We invite members of our community and beyond to socialize over the shared love of reading. We hope that you’ll meet new friends and fall in love with authors that might have slipped past your radar. We will always try our best to diversify the literary interests, genres and authors each month to enhance stimulating conversations.

Turning Pages Bookclub is set to start on Saturday, October 26th 2019 at 6:30 p.m. and to recur monthly with discussions led by Page Turner staff. We will release the titles that we are planning on reading, two to three months at a time. Please see below our next dates and sign up via Eventbrite!

Bookclub members get 15% off what we’re reading!

Each month we will wait to hear from at least 5 people and cap the group at 15, so tell your friends and snag a comfy reading chair! And of course feel free to sign up for multiple months.

Can’t wait to adventure with you!

The Vignes twin sisters will always be identical. But after growing up together in a small, southern black community and running away at age sixteen, it's not just the shape of their daily lives that is different as adults, it's everything: their families, their communities, their racial identities. Ten years later, one sister lives with her black daughter in the same southern town she once tried to escape. The other secretly passes for white, and her white husband knows nothing of her past. Still, even separated by so many miles and just as many lies, the fates of the twins remain intertwined. What will happen to the next generation, when their own daughters' storylines intersect?

Winter lasts most of the year at the edge of the Russian wilderness, and in the long nights, Vasilisa and her siblings love to gather by the fire to listen to their nurse’s fairy tales. Above all, Vasya loves the story of Frost, the blue-eyed winter demon. Wise Russians fear him, for he claims unwary souls, and they honor the spirits that protect their homes from evil.

Then Vasya’s widowed father brings home a new wife from Moscow. Fiercely devout, Vasya’s stepmother forbids her family from honoring their household spirits, but Vasya fears what this may bring. And indeed, misfortune begins to stalk the village.

But Vasya’s stepmother only grows harsher, determined to remake the village to her liking and to groom her rebellious stepdaughter for marriage or a convent. As the village’s defenses weaken and evil from the forest creeps nearer, Vasilisa must call upon dangerous gifts she has long concealed—to protect her family from a threat sprung to life from her nurse’s most frightening tales.
